As backpackers go AAE Amsterdam San Francisco rates well. Very helpful staff, a great location and good facilities. The bunk beds and bedding are not great but made up for by the cook yourself, all you can eat waffles for breakfast. Friendly, cheap, clean and safe in a good part of a great city!!

Exactly what a hostel should be. Wonderful place, helpful staff, great location and a great schedule of events every night (pub crawl, movie night, etc.)

the location is very good. The hostel is with full-equipped kitchen. and the service is also good. But the room i stayed stinks.

Very nice to have free internet access at three computer terminals. people were very friendly. Good community kitchen to do your own cooking.
