Aberdeen Douglas Hotel Guest Reviews

3 out of 5

Amazing staff! One of the best I have ever seen in a hotel of any rating. They are absolute jewels, and keep me coming back to the hotel even though she shows her age, and isn't the most modern hotel in Aberdeen. Orbitz on the other hand, was a disaster with this trip. Booked the Douglas online, via orbitz, paid in advance, and then when I checked in, the staff at the Douglas informed me they did not have my reservation, and they were fully booked. I called Orbitz and they were of NO HELP. Customer service was rude, even though I was speaking to a "supervisor" in Manila, stayed on hold for 16 minutes (while paying for international roaming on my mobile phone) just to be told repeatedly, there is nothing they could do for me. No alternative lodging was offered, and they didn't even seem to care I had no place to stay. No refund yet, and I had to sleep in the office I was visiting. After this experience, I think I am going to avoid Orbitz at all cost.
