Location
Located in a quiet and calm area, the Alloggi Agli Artisti Hotel is only 150 metres from the main central train station (Santa Lucia) and close to the Grand Canal. It is very easy to reach and not too far from the most popular tourist attractions in the city, such as Rialto Bridge or San Marco Square which are respectfully 10 and 20 minutes away by boat.
The 34 rooms are simple but very welcoming. The walls are painted yellow, the frames of the beds are made of dark iron and the fabrics used are colourful and tasteful to create a very warm atmosphere. Every room is dedicated to a different painter whose masterpiece is displayed in the room. Guest can choose between rooms with bathroom and rooms with shared bathroom on the floor.
Restaurant
Guests can begin their day with a delicious buffet breakfast served in the warm and pleasant atmosphere of the breakfast room. Guests can also take advantage of the bar service.
General
The area around the station and towards the Jewish Ghetto is less touristy, where guests can find the Venetians with their typical markets and shops.

Very nice hotel steps away from train and close to airport buses.. Keep in mind the wireless Internet is not free (and quite expensive).. Save your money and go to a restaurant or cafe with free Internet.

This hotel, part of which at the moment is being renovated is really nicely situated within a few yards from the rail station just at the foot of the bridge by the railway. Probably more expensive in season,but amazingly cheap for a hotel on Venice island. A bit cool inside, but then the weather outside was freezing, must be great in summer. Good breakfast included in the price.

We had shared bathroom-there are 2- 1 large, 1 small and never had to wait for it, for the price and excellent location this is a great place to stay. The room was larger than expected. Hotel was hard to find- its on ur left down a tiny alley just after the train station but easy access to everything as its on the actual island.

The hotel is well located very close to the train station, Grand Canal vaparetto stop and Piazza Roma. There is no lift so if your room's on the upper floors be prepared to carry your luggage. The breakfasts are good with a choice of pastries, cereals, juices and tea and coffee. The rooms have air conditioning, a TV and wash basin but can bit a little small. There were 3 communal bathrooms that varied in size. In general the hotel is quite though one night (Monday) there was a lot of noise from the street below with locals "enjoying" themselves until 1am.

I have stayed at Aloggi Agli Artisti hotel twice and each experience has been goos, friendly staff and excellent location in Venice definitely shall return
