Barcelo Brighton Old Ship Hotel Guest Reviews
Disappointed that we were told it had smoking rooms but on arrival were informed all rooms are non smoking. The view from the window was of a roof and some part of the hotel maintenance area. The hotel is old as the housekeeper pointed out and has a lot of history attached to it, however the floor in our room was sloping so the drawers would not shut on the bedside cabinet and our room door had to be slammed heavily to close it which I am sure was not enjoyed by our neighbours. These are factors that some might describe as giving the hotel character, however I felt they let the four star rating down. The room was comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The staff were pleasant and the bar area was lovely as was the restaurant however as to be expected the prices in the hotel were a tad expensive. It was a good base for a short break.

When we visited the hotel we could not turn off the shower and had to call reception. However the porter came up straight away and fixed this for us.

Great location, and good service. Clean and tidy with comfortable room. Only down side was noise throughout the night from outside. Not enough to put you off though

Excellent location, large comfortable and clean room. The bathroom would benefit modernisation. It would be fantastic for breakfast to be included as standard, considering the price paid for the room. I would definitely stay at the Old Ship Hotel in Brighton in future!

I read some very bad reviews so was expecting the worst. Found the hotel to be lovely. The room was very nice, modern, clean and tidy and lovely clean bathroom with amazing shower. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and they even kept our bags in a ticketed cloakroom at check out so we could spend the day without lugging our bags about. Would definitely stay there again, was very pleased.
