Europa 92 Hotel Amsterdam Guest Reviews
Overall, the hotel had some high points and low points. Some of the high points included being bumped to a double from a single, and the bed was excellent. Also, the hotel was in a good location, just a 5-6 minute tram ride from Dam Square, and closer to Leidseplein and Museumplein. Also, the tram stop was maybe 100 feet from the door of the hotel. Some of the negatives included were a slow drain in the shower, and the interior was a bit dated. Also, the stairs were very steep (although, you'd get this at any hotel in an older building in Amsterdam). And cigarette smoke wafted up from rooms below into my room, despite having the window closed.

This hotel was quaint and cute, and the location is very good in my opinion. It's definitely not at the heart of the city, but Amsterdam is small enough that the city center was easily walkable (took about 10-15 minutes for a healthy male in his late 20s); there are several tram stops within walking distance of the hotel too. The back garden was fairly large and a nice place to relax with a beer from their bar. Overall though, I had to give it two-stars. This is because of several reasons: i) the WiFi (while being cheap - 1Euro for 1hour) was incredibly slow; ii) this must have been an old house, because you can hear every creak and movement from any rooms surrounding you - up, down, or to the sides - and noise from the stairwells (especially drunkards coming in at 5am) was incredibly transmittable; iii) one deskman was extremely rude, and cared more about his texting and facebooking than checking me into the hotel (although, I must say that I also encountered two very friendly deskmen aside from this guy); iv) the cleaning staff came very early in my opinion, around 8:30-9:00am every morning, and they didn't care if you yelled "No Service Please" or "Hang on", they just knocked while concomitantly unlocking your door and just barged in... I found that very rude, as one walked in on me changing clothes after just showering. I found that there are plenty of other hotels in Amsterdam while exploring the city, and I will most likely only stay here again if I can't find a better deal, mostly because of the noise and the cleaning people.

Smoking Europeans at breakfast in the basement was a bit weird but good selection of breakfast foods

Very small room (single room) and if you have too many bags/luggage good luck to you...you probably have to sleep on top of your suitcases... The room was cleaned every day and it is OK for a couple of days. it is close to public transport and can walk to the center (around 15min walk)...overall it is one of the cheapest places I could find and having seen some other joints this one is not that bad...(you also get free breakfast...).
