Macdonald Loch Rannoch Hotel Perthshire Guest Reviews

4.4 out of 5

We spent a lovely night at the Macdonald Loch Rannoch hotel. We stayed there as a "pitstop" to a holiday further up in Scotland and it was a wonderful first night away. There are 2 choices for dinner, a restaurant, and a bar menu. The restaurant looked a bit posh for two people that had been on the road for 12 hours, but the bar was perfect and well priced. The scenery from the hotel was beautiful and it was just down the road from Queen's view and the Tay forest which were both lovely places to stop and admire Scotland. The hotel was a long way from anywhere else, (a good half hours drive) so you need to be prepared to eat there or eat before you arrive. But as I say it was a reasonable menu in the bar area. All in all a very pleasant and happy experience.

Located in the middle of nowhere, friendly attentive staff, good food, open log fire in the lounge , stunning views and one amazing sunset, the lochrannoch hotel is the perfect way to relax and forget about your children for a little while. The falls of Bruar are well worth the hike too.

All very good, location is stunning; if a bit remote. P.S. Don't expect to get four cups of coffee from the pot they bring you when you ask for coffee for four. We managed 2.5. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she curtly answered 'No, I am sorry you are wrong, it serves four'.

Room was excellent, overlooked the Loch and mountains. Very quiet too. Would recommend however due to excellent room, facilities and location.
