Majestic Hotel London Guest Reviews

Firstly I rated The Majestc Not Good as they they had no "Dumped Me in London Button"! Sure the place was grotty, smelly and unkept (This was The Lobby!) however at the price offered I figured it's a bed in London after a long day of flying etc. Well it was'nt even that.......The lady at the desk said she had no record of my reservation. Not to worry - I had all the paperwork that you're supposed to print out, the reservation #, booking #.... even proof that the money had been charged to my Visa Card which I had with me. Didn't make any difference. When I asked her what I was going to to do for a bed that night she said it wasn't her problem!!! As the heading says don't book this CRUMMY HOTEL. By the wat The Stanhope Arms is a nice little Pub up the way there at the Gloucester Rd Tube station. Still love London till the say I die! PS CheapTix did refund the cash when I got home!

Stayed here w/e of 26th June for Hyde Park festival. Great location but the hotel is rather tired and old and could do with a lick of paint if not a complete refurb. It probably could be Majestic with some investment, but my room was only just big enough for the bed and not much else. Having said that, I was only there to sleep so it did the job, but a bit expensive for what I got... Can't say I'd stay there again though - there's plenty of others which look much better nearby...

The hotel is indeed a little bit run-down, but for that rate one shouldn't complain. It has most facilities available in budget hotels and the counter staff is very helpful. Very near to 2 tube stations and to 2 museums as well. The hotel is loaded with Spanish students and they are on the whole very well-behaved. Unlimited supply of coffee, tea and buns for a reasonably priced continental breakfast. It seems all the staff working there are migrant workers (except the char lady perhaps). There is no reason why I shouldn't book this hotel again.

My first trip back after two years, whilst there is nothing drasticly wrong with the hotel and the staff are great the rooms have started to look tired. If your paying £30 you think great but £45 is toppy. The cold tap did not work, but to be fair it was repaired the following day before I complained. The TV reception was bad with only BBC 1 working as there was an issue with a broken ariel. One oof the reasons I was happy to stay here was the shower room was always clean which it still is but its just looking very tired and ok its fine if your on your own but you would not take your partner. The hotel needs a spruce up and a lick of paint and then it would be grand........but to be fiar I have staid in worse. No kettle for coffee etc either... But no complaints about the staff as they are always jolly etc.
