good location, cheap, good staff

Good location near Earls Court tube station. The area is not fantastic, neither is the hotel, but it is a good cheap option for a short stay in London.

The staff were very unhelpful and the facilities were dirty. The room was small, hardly a double as was claimed. The traffic noise was extremely loud and we could not close the window as the room was hot and stuffy. We asked for some form of fan but the staff again were, initially, not very helpful. The 'Continental' breakfast was a joke.

I often stay in budget hotels and know what to expect for the money I pay. However the Olympia Hotel London is a totally frustrating experience. My room had a very clean bathroom (small but this is to be expected) with good fxtures and fittings and clean comfortable beds. However with the temperature below freezing I had a window that virtually flapped in the wind as the catch was broken. The radiator would not work so I had to ask to have the heating turned on. The kettle contained a mouldy teabag which had obviously been there weeks and had made the inside of the kettle all rusty. I got a replacement kettle but it did not work. However, the biggest problem was the complete lack of any water in the morning. Having a good bathroom is totally useless if there is no water for a shower or even to clean your teeth. Don't start your day off in a bad mood like I did, just go somewhere else.
