Puerta del Camino Hotel Santiago de Compostela Guest Reviews
An excellent hotel.Location on outskirts of city but frequent, cheap bus service to old city. Few tourists in Hotel, more of a conference hotel, thus lack of entertainment. However a very enjoyable stay.

Fine for a business meeting but a 5 euro taxi ride to downtown. Otherwise great for the price and hotel cafe and restuarant very reasonably priced in comparison with other hotels of this standard.

For English tourists, PdC is probably not the best option. It's a little out of the town centre ~35 min walk from the cathedral, most of the staff don't speak English and the restaurant is rather average if overpriced. For conferences, I would have similar reservations (eg, no wireless in most of the rooms, lack of English speaking staff). That said, the rooms were spacious and well kept, and the outdoor pool is surprisingly uncommon in Santiago. The price wasn't bad either. For young travellers it's a well priced luxury, as long as you don't mind the trek into to town (myself and my companion rather enjoyed it!)

This hotel has a poor location, and is almost 45 minute walk from the centre. Having said that, it is clean and acceptable, though by no means a five star hotel!
