Centrally located in the Yudanaka Hot Spring Resort Village, the Shimaya Ryokan in Nagano is eight minutes walk from the Yudanaka station on the Nagano Dentetsu Line.

Shimaya Ryokan Nagano Guest Reviews
The Shimaya is located in an excellent area for access to the world-famous Snow Monkey Park and the beautiful town of Yudanaka. Mr. and Mrs. Yumoto are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful. Recommend for travelers who want an authentic Japanese experience.

This is a family run Ryokan in Yudanaka....and people from all over the world stay here for one main reason.....to see the snow monkeys at the monkey park about 4 kilometres away. Its close to the railway station and has its own hot spring bath...wow this is an experience in itself. The owner is very helpful and drove us to the monkeys and to the railway station when we left. Also helped us find good eateries around town and see the historic quarter of the town which is also amazing. He and his wife are very hospitable. Take cash...there are no ATMs in the town but you will have a really memorable stay at this hotel.
