The Academy Hotel London Guest Reviews
The Academy is very pleasent boutique style hotel in a great location. With bus and nearby tube links its also within walking distance of central London. Staff were charming, rooms were clean, bed a little hard for my taste. A good experience. We will stay here again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Bathroom was nice size. Hotel was in a safe and well lit area. I would stay at the Academy Hotel again. I was a bit disappointed that there was daytime construction going on at the hotel.

The Academy in Bloomsbury boasts an excellent location for enjoying London, especially the British Museum, Soho, and the theatre district. Our first night there was inauspicious: we were given a small room on the top floor, four flights up with a window (opening onto a scaffolding) that wouldn't close. It was obvious that the window had been broken into. The staff quickly moved us to another room, a suite two flights down, that was a lovely compensation and much better value for their high prices: spacious, comfortable, elegant. They offer an additional-cost breakfast but we didn't take it. The Academy is a mixed bag of nice boutique rooms with good beds but with shabby stairs and halls and no lift. Another drawback: the high-speed internet doesn't function well, if at all, and is far from high speed.

Loved our stay at this hotel. Staff were fantastic, service was great, the room was gorgeous, and location cannnot be beaten. Appreciated the free wi-fi. Breakfast not cheap but good quality. Will definitely be back.

As I booked on the internet via [website] I think they gave me the room they would have difficulty renting if people inspected first. Service was non existent and I was told at desk that 0800 numbers were free then they charged for them. Too expensive for basement room.
