The Baldwin Hotel San Francisco Guest Reviews
Room was small but recently renovated. Located close to everything downtown, especially Chinatown. No breakfast, but the Working Girls Cafe in the next street parallel was great (also try the Banana House Thai restaurant in the same street where we went back 3 times to each for cheap and tasty food.)

Baldwin Hotel is quiet clean and modest price: perfect for sleeping and soaking in large tub

The staff at the front desk and room service were friendly helpful - I had a number of positive exchanges all of which generated feeling of being in a good place.

No frills, but clean. It's advertised as being on Union Square so I was surprised that it's right below the main entrance to China Town on Grant Street. The room was clean but bare bones. The TV is set at an angle to the bed and the remote can't be taken off the head board. It was pretty uncomfortable watching TV lying cross wise on the bed. The hotel is quiet and very safe. The staff was polite but not personable. No particular personality to the hotel either. The best feature is that it's located within walking distance of where I want to go while in SF.

Like everybody seems to say, the location is perfect. The hotel staff are truly helpful and know the area well. The room I was in was very comfortable, had charming ambiance, was very clean, and was very quiet. I was a little nervous when I found out the room had no air-conditioning; however, there was absolutely no need for it, although it was September (typically the warmest month of the year). When I visit San Francisco again I will DEFINITELY stay at the Baldwin Hotel again!
