The Lakes Cairns Resort & Spa Guest Reviews
The aircon in the room stunk the whole 4 nights we stayed. The dust on the plastic plants was thick and the mat was perishing. This room hadn't been used in a while and wasn't checked before we moved in. Very disappointing. The beds were hard the pillows old and sloppy. The sitting furniture was not comfortable to sit too long on. You have to pay to use the room safe. The view over the pool was nice. The pools were great, lots to choose from. But beware noise travels and they don't close until 10pm.The bar was only open for happy hour. The bistro was closed. Bus service to shops available.Markets at the Botanic Gardens worth a visit and they are around the corner.

Nice resort area close to the airport. Multiple pools and facilities. Very clean place and comfortable beds. Staff friendly too. I would stay here again when in Cairns.

The resort overall was lovely and would be highly recomended, only difficulty was there were no elevators or assistance for elderly or unfit people in which to carry up and down their luggage, also with carry food shopping.

Perfect for families. Nice big roomy apartments, & full kitchen. Have stayed many times & will continue to do so in the future. Note for parents no DVD facilities & the in room TV service is average. SO BYO movies on ipod. Noticed that the rooms were starting to look 'tired' but thats only because I have been going there over the last 7 years! They have now got a 24 hr kiosk with basics like milk etc, which was great. Highly recommend to families travelling

We had a great week-long stay at The Lakes in Cairns. Our 2-bed apartment was at the far end of the resort and was quiet, very spacious and immaculately clean. It was near the children's playground and pool with soft white sand which my two young children loved. It is not in the centre of Cairns but we had a car so this was not a problem. Some small drawbacks - the hotel had no record of me ordering a portacot with my booking. Takeaway alcohol bought at reception is quite expensive (although convenient).
