Together with adjacent Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park covers more than 250 hectares. As such, the public park tops the Vatican and Principality of Monaco in size. Hyde Park is not quite as vast as Central Park in Manhattan however and of all the Royal Parks of London, ranks fourth in size. The park has many notable features, from Speakers’ Corner to the Marble Arch, Serpentine recreational lake to Rotten Row. The Holocaust Memorial and Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain both attract a fair number of daily visitors as well. The major thoroughfare of Park Lane runs adjacent to Hyde Park and contains several upmarket hotels.

Many historic events have been held at Hyde Park over the years, from the Great Exhibition of 1851 to Live 8.
Five London Underground stations access Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. A number of bus routes service both parks as well.
