Very nice and clean (really clean!) hotel, situated right next to Basel SBB railyway station (location was my main objective in hotel-choice). Several restaurants and fast-foods nearby (as well as loads of shops at the railway station), Basel old city center, kunstmuseum and zoo easily reachable by foot (5-10 min. walk) or by tram or bus (or taxi). Friendly staff, a quick check-out, and because of the heath a personal airconditioner.

Though expensive (catering for the business traveller), the hotel was exactly placed for what we wanted, a place to stay overnight while on a train trip from the UK to Austria through the Alps, as it was across the road from the main railway station. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was of a high standard.

We were at the Hotel for one night only, having arrived by train, and we found the close proximity to the Railway station, the trams servicing the Central shopping area, and the Hotel facilities and restaurant most satisfactory. We were a little disappointed that there was no staff to assist with our luggage
